Robert Breer – Fuji (1974)

My Response: Starting with the intensity of fast flashing frames, dictating a negative feel on the audience as we see a build up of a fast moving train and a suspicious passenger. The confusion of what is happening also affects the viewer as we see the train passing though an industrial plant, tall mountains and sorts of nature. In between those frames the viewers can also see different shapes and symbols. The strange and yet effective use of colour change demonstrates the mood of the film as it changes from a diverse and complicated scene to another. Identifies: This film identifies certain characteristics of people though the feel of a ‘rush’ and ‘panic’ feel via the rapid movement of the ‘camera’. It can represent a persons day-to-day life as the story line is based on a fast moving train, passing industrial plants and nature surrounding it.
